Significant achievements of the research station:
The experiment conducted to study the effect of different plant spacings and nitrogen levels on growth and yield of Eucalyptus clones revealed that adopting a spacing of 3 X 1.5 m recorded higher plant height of 5.84 m followed by 2 X 1.5 m and 3 X 1.5-1.5 m. Application of 225 g N/plant recorded higher plant of 6.43 m followed by 150 g N/plant and 75 g N/plant.

  1. The trial on collection, maintenance and evaluation of Eucalyptus clones indicated that the clone, BCM-226 produced taller plants of 7.3 m followed by BCM-290. The lowest plant height was recorded with BCM-273. The maximum girth of 20.8 cm was recorded with BCM-2202 clone followed by BCM-290 (20.5 cm). The lowest girth was recorded with BCM-27 (11.3 cm).
  2. The experiment conducted to study the effect of different spacings on growth and yield of casuarina clones indicated that plant height was maximum with spacing of 1.5 X 1.5 m followed by 2 X 1.5 m. The lowest plant height was recorded with spacing of 3 X 1.5 m.
  3. The experiment conducted on response of Simarouba to Nitrogen and spacing indicated that adopting a spacing of 4 X 4 m recorded higher plant height of 2.64 m and was on par with 6 X 6 m spacing. Application of 225 g N/plant recorded higher plant height of 2.63 m followed by 150 g N/plant and 75 g N/plant.
  4. The experiment on response of rice varieties to different levels of nitrogen under aerobic conditions revealed that application of 160 kg N/ha recorded higher grain yield of 1819 kg/ha followed by 200 kg N/ha (1545 kg/ha).
